What is a Life Group? A Life Group is a gathering of people assembling in a leader’s home or at a designated Life Group room at the church building on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis to share food, fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.
-The first decision that must be made is where will our Life Group take place. Homes, Church, Coffee Shops, Park, Etc.
-The second decision is how often will we gather. Weekly, bi-monthly, monthly
-You can have a meal together or share snacks.
What is the purpose of a Life Group? Life Groups exist to accomplish 3 things. First, spending time in the Word. This will give members an opportunity to learn and grow together as the Holy Spirit reveals truth. Second, spending time praying for the needs of the Life Group Members. This is also a time to encourage those who are needing encouragement. Third, building relationships through these times of fellowship are a part of the purpose.
-There will be a Life Group facilitator who will lead a discussion of assigned Bible reading or do a traditional Bible study.
-At some point during the gathering, group members will pray for the needs and concerns of those gathered. This is also a time to encourage those who may going through a difficult time in their lives.
-Fellowship is a fundamental part of the Life Group experience. Getting to know those in your group and building relationships that will last. This will happen organically as groups spend time together.
What is the mission of a Life Group? The mission of a life group is Connect with Christ through worship and discipleship, Connect with the Congregation through fellowship and ministry to and with one another, and to Connect with the Community through outreach.
